The UPS rig was pulling out of the northbound side's Quick Chek when it snagged the wires, closing the highway in both directions from Allendale Road to Lake Street, responders said.
Like last time, the utility poles will have to be replaced.
That means:
- Northbound Route 17 would remain closed indefinitely;
- Southbound Route 17 could temporarily have a single lane open.
It's in the same spot that downed lines closed the road for more than 14 hours earlier this month. It even happened in the same general time period -- around 2:45 p.m. this time.
It was less than two weeks ago that a utility pole a short distance away "just snapped on its own," a responder told Daily Voice -- beginning a rush-hour nightmare that became an hours-long headache after the wires were strewn across the highway.

SEE: Route 17 in Saddle River finally reopened around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, more than 14 hours after utility lines fell across the roadway, closing it.
